Doll Wärmetechnik GmbH in Mössingen (Baden-Württemberg) received an award in the technology category for a vertically operating ceiling fan for use in greenhouses. This is a system with a new, patented air flow. The device extracts the warm air that has accumulated in the upper area of the greenhouse under the energy screen and distributes it evenly throughout the cultivation area. This achieves a more even temperature distribution and saves heating energy at the same time. Since the plant population is well aerated, plant protection measures can be reduced and the energy consumption for the so-called dry heating can be minimized. For this purpose, the ceiling fan was combined with a correspondingly developed control technology, which continuously measures the temperature in the ceiling area of the greenhouse and controls the fan as required. The fan is powered by a highly efficient AC motor, which requires less energy than conventional electric motors. This is a solution that can increase the energy efficiency of greenhouse cultivation while improving crop success.
Doll heating and ventilation systems at IPM 2013
With our keynote - energy saving and heating - our commitment to the horticultural branch, we have been introducing on this years IPM trade fair newly developed, efficiently operating heating- and aeration devices. Our ambition for technical changes was not only to increase the firing efficiency of our heating-systems for instance by the use of condensing operation, but also too enhance the overall efficiency by the the development and application of new ventilators and motors. The achievement: electrical power consumption of heating systems are reduced to about an average of 20% .The electrical power consumption of aeration systems like ceiling ventilators or air-accelerators compared to conventional systems are reduced about over 40%.
